Alain is a tax director at Mazars Luxembourg, focusing on the financial services industry. He has more than 20 years years of experience in international tax, including specialisations such as tax structuring of real estate funds, structuring of Islamic Finance transactions and Islamic funds, and operational tax. Within the operational tax area, he has significant experience in respect of FATCA/QI and the Common Reporting Standard (CRS). Alain has been involved in the implementation of the QI regime since 2000, as well as in QI audits and reviews. Since the very start in 2010, he also has been heavily involved in FATCA and, later on, the CRS. In this context, he has carried out implementation projects, as well as health checks and remediation projects regarding FATCA and the CRS (not only in Luxembourg but also in a series of foreign jurisdictions such as Azerbaijan, Switzerland, Hong Kong, etc.). His clients are essentially banks, actors within the fund industry and real estate funds and promotors.
