Erik leads Mazars global Financial Services Tax Group. He has more than 20 years of experience as a tax lawyer providing international tax advisory, structuring (including project finance) and M&A services, and assisting financial institutions with the relevant tax aspects of adapting their operational models due to the regulatory changes for such institutions. His clients include listed banks, insurance companies and private equity funds (including infrastructure and green energy funds). Erik frequently advises his clients on opportunities but also the challenges caused by the initiatives of A.O., the OECD and the EU on fighting tax evasion and creating more tax transparency in the financial services sector. He has a particular focus on and interest in the new and less established areas of international taxation caused by globalization, digitalization and technology transformation for the financial services sector.
